Rahul Dholakia - Raees ka Baap

Raaes, controversial mamla he yaar.

Think about it, Muslims have always been seen as this bad part of India. But in reality it's a part that is shunned and is left to fend for themselves.

This movie was able to support my idea of how Muslims are in need of financial support and the only reason they end up in trouble, is because they literally go to the highest bidder.

It's a choice that life makes for them.

Raees's ultimate dream, the dream to have 'apni duniya'. This dream is crushed due to a faltu issue.
Nahi, seriously. The politician wants to do their rally, the same politician who benefits from raees's business, and raees wants to protect his business.

Something that could be solved over a chai is built into this Hindu Muslim Drama when in reality we can clearly see that even Hindu families are supporting raaes. The stupidest riot turns into the reason of why raees ends up dieing.

And even in death, his aim is to protect his people.
Not Muslim people, not Hindu people. But instead every human in his area.

Raees is a movie that tried to show the Hindu- Muslim difference in one lense. The people who live ordinary lives and live hand to mouth don't really care what God they pray to. It's always the politics that ruin and brainwash the citizens into making decisions that don't benefit anyone other than the people sitting in holier than thou places.

I understand that Muslims end up in places they do not intend to be in.
But I always ask myself before hating a fellow Indian, have we given them any other choice?

As a movie, I did not enjoy this. The jokes were meh, the unnecessary songs were bleh.
The movie stood on the face value of Shah Rukh Khan and Nawazuddin , obviously they are the reason I had goosebumps and made it to the end of the movie.

The topic on the other hand, it had me intrigued to watch it. And honestly, Shah Rukh Sir always brings such issues to the table in a way that doesn't hurt anyone.

5/10 on IMDB, but if there was an app for best topic movies. I would have given an 8.
