The Mistrust in Garbage

My morning walk is always filled with thoughts that make me double back. But today's discovery is unbelievably silly yet has the most disastrous results for our mother earth/ Prithvi Maa.

I kept on questioning  myself, "How can I be of help in keeping the garbage out of  Earth's veins."
" Maybe, I could literally start by cleaning the surrounding" , "  No, that does not seem to be a fruitful idea, because then I'd be picking and cleaning all my life and noone will learn to stop creating it".

"Maybe, I could write skits, and stories, you know, to aware people of what they are doing".

But everyone is definitely aware about what they are doing, it is just not on their list of problems. I mean, kids, office, parents, drama of fiends, money issues, travelling, and the list goes on. But garbage is not on their list because it is one less thing to worry about.

I think eventually everyone realizes what they have done, some even try to make up for it by doing better.
But why does every human have this mistrust that nothing is going to change.

Because! Humans are a creature of habit. And they love to point out that the people around them are the same as them. And every human keeps on fanning the idea that no one is going to change.

So when I say Mistrust in Garbage, it directly means that the world is thriving on mistrust.

Unfortunately, Indians are winning the race of mistrust. In this particular case the mistrust is causing the garbage to pile up.

Obviously the Mistrust in Garbage applies to every human, but  I am going to continue my rant on Indians.

Every single time someone thinks about segregating the garbage at home, or in a neighbourhood.
Every persons second thought is, "why are we doing this when it is all going to be put in a landfill"
Even though India is struggling to teach their citizens that they do have a system set up for it.
The citizens have zero trust on it. And they are enjoying that mistrust  because then they don't have to worry about the segregation, the harm cause by their stupidity, and the consequences that will ultimately bite us back.

The generation in this era, till now, thrives on mistrust.

It's better to blame the government instead of taking a leap of faith. And fuck the leap of faith. Every time there is a new rule, no one jumps on the idea of having to follow the rule. Because if enough people ignore it, then everyone follows.

Now, I count myself as a part of the problem. Because did I segregate, NO. Do I think that it is a major problem in my daily life, NO. Do I want to leave this earth as it was given to me, NO. Because I have limited time on this earth and I would like to enjoy it to the fullest , but not according to my standards. The enjoying to the fullest have set parameters, like being financially independent and living a lavish life with my family.

In a world where everyone thrives on mistrust, and no one wants to be kind to the mother earth. I am lost on how do even I find a solution.

I think, the world needs to see that the government is taking initiatives to change the cycle. They need see that their decisions of not following the rule is the only thing stopping the world to fix the issues.
And they need to realize that they are very much accountable for all the harm they are causing the Earth.

In a country where religious riots are most famous. How do I start a chain of change?
